Memory Lane Photo & Paper Arts to Close Doors
Via AZ Central:
After 10 years spent working its way into our memory books, Memory Lane Photo & Paper Arts in Gilbert [AZ] is closing its doors.
The scrapbook shop was always a place that celebrated the moments of life and the deliciously crafty things you can buy to go with them. A place where women came together and rejoiced that someone else understood the need for that particular shade of sage-colored paper and would sigh with you when you found it.
...It's hard for the co-owners, too, but it simply is time to retire. The store is still doing well, and Jones and Smylie want to go out while they're still wanted. They have 17 children between them and instructional books to write. Smylie's line of scrapbooking supplies, 7 Gypsies, is nationally successful, and takes both of their time and creative energy. There is talk of focusing on photography and tingling at the thought of new opportunities.
