Scrapaholics Clubs Expand into US and Canada

Scrapaholic Clubs™ promote education and fun for hobbyists in the USA and Canada.

Houston, TX (PRWEB) September 23, 2006 -- Scrapaholic Clubs™ began when British Designers Sarah Mason and Karen McIvor discovered that there were little choices for scrapbooking retreats within their budget. They decided to offer scrapbooking retreats which would offer good value for money, in comfortable surroundings on an intimate, friendly scale.

The success of the retreats led to requests for regular scrapbooking classes and as a result their first Scrapaholic club was born. This club was so popular that they soon opened another locally. With the success of the structure of the club they decided to open clubs nationally and now have a fantastic team of experienced scrapbookers running Scrapaholic Clubs™ all over the UK, Ireland and Channel Isles with more opening every month. The latest ones recently opened in the United States and Canada.

Sarah and Karen are also the authors of two books on Scrapbooking, "Total Scrapbooking" and "The Encyclopedia of Scrapbooking". They are currently working on their third publication. In 2005 they were the proud recipients of the 'UK Scrapbook Designers of the Year' award at the Stitching and Craft Awards. The designing duo have also had a wealth of media coverage in publications, including - The Times Newspaper, Lighter Life Magazine, Prima Magazine, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio London, Kent & Ireland.

Five years later the fun of Scrapaholic Clubs™ and Scrapaholic Retreats™ have come to the US with the launch of Scrapaholic USA. Based out of Houston, Texas, the company is headed by Roberta Larkins, an experienced scrapbooker with a passion for sharing her craft.  She has always had a desire to have a career doing something that she loves, and the Scrapaholic network provides a natural atmosphere for her.

Scrapaholic Clubs™ are an international network of classes, or "clubs," and crops, which provide a social learning environment for Scrapbookers. Each club is run by an enthusiastic instructor, who each month has a "meeting" where she teaches a new scrapbooking technique with the support and assistance of Scrapaholic USA. The organization's goal is to promote and develop the craft of scrapbooking and to provide an opportunity for members to learn and express their creativity through memory keeping.

Scrapaholic USA is not designed to compete with any of the kit clubs or the scrapbook stores, but rather present a dynamic partnership. Scrapbook stores can become part of the instructor base and have a club meeting in their stores each month. Scrapaholic USA is also designed for groups of scrapbookers who already get together each month to work on their albums. They can now have structured lessons to increase their scrapbooking knowledge while enjoying the social atmosphere.
