Yahoo! Photos Closing

Via Photographypress.co.uk:

Thousands of photo sharing users will have to move their photos from Yahoo's Photo service because the company has said that it is closing its doors.

From the Yahoo! Photos/Closing FAQ section:

For some time now we’ve supported two great photo sharing services, Yahoo! Photos and Flickr. But even good things come to an end, and we’ve decided to focus all our efforts on Flickr...

Yahoo! Photos will begin the process of closing later this summer and will officially close this fall, after you have had time to move your photos.

Later this summer we will be asking you to make a decision about what to do with your photos and then you will have three months to choose from among the options available.

That should be more than enough time, but we encourage you to decide sooner rather than later. All users who choose to move to another service will be added to the queue for that service. So the sooner you make the decision, the sooner you’ll be have access to your photos at their new home.

After we close, we will delete all photos that have not already made the move somewhere else, so it will be important you’ve chosen from the options available – moving to another service, downloading your photos, or buying an archive CD (for users of the New Yahoo! Photos only).

Check the Closing FAQ for more information.
